Saturday 6 March
The internationally acclaimed world/roots singing group Northern Harmony, on tour from Vermont, will be giving a public workshop in the afternoon, followed by an evening concert.
The workshop is at Hillhead Baptist Church Hall (Cresswell St G12 8AE)
From 2 to 5pm and costs £12 (£8 students/unemployed) on the door.
Participants are asked bring a food contribution towards a "potluck supper" for all afterwards

Saturday 13 March : 7.00pm til Midnight.

Spring singing 2010 -
Three dates in Stockbridge Parish Church : Two Spirituals days: one on February 27th and one on March 27th . Plus: a CATurday (Cat Stevens) day on March 13th ! Times are 10:30am-4:30pm. Cost £25.00 (£20.00) each. All are welcome, but please ring me if you would like to attend any of these events.

Our Autumn Caputh weekend -
November 13-15 - filled up very fast - but we'll be going again in the Spring. Watch this space

LAKELAND VOICE - harmony singing 2010

Tuesdays 7.30-9.30pm Lakeland Voices community choir open to all. Songs learnt by ear from Britain and around the world with summer singing walks, outings to sing in beautiful local places, visiting choirs and choir meets, lerarning CDs etc. Term-time - starts again next Tuesday (January 12) at the Castle Street Community Centre, Kendal.

April 13-17 Slovenia - singing in this mountainous former Jugoslavian republic - meeting singers, learning songs, concerts, tour etc. Shared lifts to airport, cheap flights, minibus travel in Slovenia.

May 28-31 The Hills are Alive - music can be sent in advance (learning CD & scores) - or learnt on the hoof - for singing with other singers on walks from Hardraw near Hawes over this long weekend in the Yorkshire Dales. Accommodation with all meals, workshops and outings.

July 23-25 Hardraw Harmony - singing weekend at the Hardraw folk festival near Hawes (Hardraw Gathering at the Green Dragon.) Hostel accommodation (or camping), workshops, concerts, walks, pub singing sessions etc..

September 20-27 Jura island harmony singing week and Folk Festival . Learn songs from Scotland and around the world, and sing them at this wonderful island festival. Single, double & twin rooms at Jura House with sea views and walks through the walled garden and woods to a private beach. Optional outings include otter and seal watching, trip to the island of Colonsay, and an expedition to the Paps of Jura.

November 12-14 Singing Settle Carlisle : Learn songs about the building of this magnificent mountain railway & sing them on the train, in the stations, on walks through these wild hills ....and round the fires of country pubs. Accommodation, workshops, concert, train, walks etc £95

December 3-5 Dent Folk Carols Festival - Folk carols, pub carols, mediaeval carols, west gallery carols, Slovenian carols... and many more. Workshops, concerts, pub singing, ceilidh dance, singing walk, festive meals etc.. Single, twin or double rooms in romantic Dentdale cottages with open fires. £95
